How to Connect LinkedIn to Amplicast

Personal profiles, company pages, and what actually publishes well.

Amplicast channel settings screen with LinkedIn connected

By the end of this guide you will have LinkedIn connected to Amplicast, your company pages selected, and a clear picture of what to publish and when.

Before you start

  • An Amplicast account (free trial works)
  • A LinkedIn account you can sign into
  • Admin access to any company pages you want to publish to

Step 1: Open Channels

Log into Amplicast. In the left sidebar, click Channels. This is where every platform connection lives.

Step 2: Click Connect LinkedIn

Find the LinkedIn card and click Connect LinkedIn. Amplicast will open a LinkedIn authorization window. If it does not open, check that your browser is not blocking pop-ups from amplicast.io.

Step 3: Sign in and authorize

Sign in with your LinkedIn credentials. LinkedIn will show you a permissions screen listing what Amplicast is requesting: the ability to read your profile and post on your behalf. Click Allow.

Why this matters: Amplicast only requests the permissions it needs to publish. It cannot read your messages or access your contacts.

Step 4: Choose what to connect

After authorization, Amplicast asks what you want to link:

  • Personal profile — posts go out under your name
  • Company page — posts go out under your organization
  • Both — you can publish to either from the same account

Select whichever applies and confirm.

Step 5: Select your company pages

If you have admin access to one or more LinkedIn company pages, Amplicast will list them automatically after you connect. Check the box next to each page you want to publish to. You can add or remove pages later from Channels at any time.

If a page is missing from the list, verify that your LinkedIn account has admin rights on that page. Observer or analyst roles do not grant publishing access.

Step 6: Confirm the connection

Back in Channels, LinkedIn should now show a green connected status. If you selected a company page, it will appear as a separate destination beneath your personal profile. Both can be targeted independently when you create a post.

What you can publish to LinkedIn through Amplicast

Amplicast supports three content types for LinkedIn:

  • Text posts — up to 3,000 characters
  • Image posts — text with a single attached image
  • Article shares — a URL with your own commentary

Native LinkedIn documents (PDF carousels) are not currently supported via the API. If carousels are a core part of your strategy, you will need to upload those manually on LinkedIn.

Tips that actually affect performance

LinkedIn's feed rewards posts that keep people on the platform. A few things consistently matter:

Length

Posts between 1,200 and 1,600 characters tend to get the most engagement. Short enough to read quickly, long enough to show up as a "see more" expansion, which signals dwell time to the algorithm. Under 500 characters rarely gets much traction unless you have a large following already.

Formatting

Use line breaks between every two or three sentences. A wall of text gets scrolled past. White space reads as easier, so people actually read it. Amplicast's editor lets you set your line breaks once and they carry through to the published post.

Hashtags

Three to five relevant hashtags is the practical ceiling. More than that and posts start to look like spam to both the algorithm and the reader. Put them at the end of the post, not scattered through the copy.

Links

LinkedIn suppresses posts with outbound links in the main body. If you need to share a URL, put it in the first comment instead, or use the article share format which is treated differently. This is one of the more counterintuitive things about publishing on the platform.

Timing

Tuesday through Thursday between 8 and 10 AM in your audience's timezone is a reliable starting point. Monday mornings and Friday afternoons tend to underperform. Run a few weeks of posts through Amplicast, note when your own audience engages, and adjust from there. General benchmarks only take you so far.

Troubleshooting

The authorization window does not open

Disable pop-up blockers for amplicast.io, then try again. Some browser extensions (ad blockers, privacy tools) intercept the OAuth redirect.

My company page is not showing up

Check your role on the page in LinkedIn's Admin tools. You need Super Admin or Content Admin rights. If your role was changed recently, disconnect and reconnect LinkedIn in Amplicast to refresh the page list.

Posts publish to my profile but not to the company page

When composing a post in Amplicast, confirm that the company page is selected as a destination in the Publish to field. Profile and company page are separate targets; selecting one does not automatically select the other.

The connection dropped after a few weeks

LinkedIn access tokens expire. Amplicast will notify you when a reconnect is needed. Go to Channels, click the LinkedIn card, and run through the authorization flow again. This takes under a minute.

Frequently asked questions

Can I publish to multiple LinkedIn company pages from one Amplicast account?

Yes. After connecting LinkedIn, Amplicast lists every company page where your LinkedIn account has admin access. Select as many as you need. Each page appears as a separate destination when you create a post.

Does Amplicast support LinkedIn carousels?

Not currently. LinkedIn's API does not expose carousel (document) publishing to third-party tools. You can publish text posts, image posts, and article shares through Amplicast. Carousels need to be uploaded directly on LinkedIn.

What LinkedIn character limit does Amplicast enforce?

The limit is 3,000 characters, which matches LinkedIn's own limit for standard posts. Amplicast shows a character count as you write so you do not hit the ceiling by accident.

Why do my LinkedIn posts with links get low reach?

LinkedIn actively reduces the distribution of posts that include outbound links in the main body. Put links in the first comment after publishing, or use the article share format. This is a LinkedIn algorithm behavior, not an Amplicast issue.

How do I disconnect LinkedIn from Amplicast?

Go to Channels, find the LinkedIn card, and click Disconnect. To revoke permissions on LinkedIn's side as well, go to LinkedIn Settings > Data privacy > Other applications and remove Amplicast from the authorized apps list.
